Every Hero and Villain Fortnite’s Doctor Doom Has Apparently Killed

Fortnite has launched its Doctor Doom season, aligned with Robert Downey Jr.’s recent development in the MCU role. For now, despite the timing, it doesn’t seem be connected, but it’s still early days.

Fortnite players have discovered something rather disturbing in Doom’s castle, a collection of “trophies” that signify that Doom has actually killed or imprisoned Marvel heroes and villains. The full list is impressive, but what’s overlooked is that Doom can often be one of the most ferocious villains in the Marvel Universe.

Here is the list we know so far:

  • The Thing was transformed into a ruined throne.
  • The Human Torch’s flaming heart is exposed.

  • Mr. Fantastic appears to be curled up in a ball.
  • An invisible chair means the Invisible Woman is probably trapped there.
  • This is Doctor Strange’s pendant.
  • A ruined Ultron head.
  • A cracked Silver Surfer board.
  • A destroyed Magneto helmet.
  • A damaged Moon Knight symbol.
  • Namor’s horn.
  • A broken Thanos helmet

There’s also a dead Galactus in the water, although it’s not 100% clear if it’s Doom’s doing this time around.

Some of these imply that we’ll likely see these skins arrive in the game, namely the Fantastic Four who have yet to be added to Fortnite, despite dozens of other Marvel heroes and two versions of Doom himself. We’ve already seen skins for Magneto, Silver Surfer, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and of course Thanos, who was the main villain in a previous Marvel season. So, outside of the Fantastic Four, there’s Ultron, who could also be arriving this season, and Namor. I wonder if Ultron could be resurrected and show up for a villain-on-villain fight.

I don’t know if there’s going to be some sort of “return to life” idea here to revive at least the Fantastic Four. Maybe Doom brought back these trophies from another universe and the current ones are still alive. Fortnite stories are always… a little hard to parse. This one already seems pretty compelling, and it’s a good way to get Doom hyped up before he enters the MCU, and it’s more meaningful than his last appearance, for sure.

The season has only just begun, but we’re definitely heading towards some sort of climactic battle later on. Right now, you can fight Doom on the map and defeat him that way, but that’s not really a story development. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks and months.
