Brussels – The European Union aims to welcome Chinese dignitaries in July for its annual summit with Beijing, the president of the Ursula von der Leyen commission announced on Tuesday after a call with Prime Minister Li Qiang.
Von der Leyen called Li to discuss the EU-China relations in the midst of the Price War of US President Donald Trump against the whole world. She “underlined the responsibility of Europe and China, as two of the largest markets in the world, to support a solid, free, fair, fair and based reformed trade system,” said the commission.
The commission almost hid the news from the timetable for the July summit, only mentioning it at the bottom of a reading of the Brussels-Beijing telephone call.
