Esha Singh and Anish Bhanwala continued their good form in the ongoing Olympic Selection Trials (OST), scoring their second wins in the women’s 25m pistol and men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol events respectively in Bhopal on Sunday .

Anish and Esha had already won the first round of the Olympic trials at the Karni Singh Range in Delhi, with the former winning in the same event and the latter in the women’s 10m air pistol.

Esha on Sunday registered her maiden victory in the 25m pistol event at the MP State Shooting Academy with a score of 43 in the final, one point more than the world record set earlier at the Cup of the ISSF World in Baku, Azerbaijan. this month by Korean Kim Yeji.

Manu Bhaker came second with 40 hits while Rhythm Sangwan clinched the final podium spot, bowing out to the 10th and final over with a score of 33. Simranpreet Kaur Brar and Abhidnya Patil finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In the men’s RFP final, Anish seemed to be in a league of his own, leading the five-man final field with three perfect five-hit streaks early on. He missed just four to finish with 36 hits for the win.

Vijayveer Sidhu stuttered at first but eventually held on to come second with 31 hits.

Ankur Goel finished third with 19, while Adarsh ​​Singh and Bhavesh Shekhawat finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

The 10 shooters will return on Monday for the fourth test (T4) and the final match of the two Olympic selection trial events.

On average after the first three attempts, Manu comfortably leads Esha at the top of the women’s sporting pistol while Anish is well ahead of second-placed Vijayveer in the men’s bidding.
