Erik ten Hag has moved closer to signing a new contract at Manchester United following positive talks with the club.

Ten Hag will enter the final 12 months of his current three-year contract next week, and United co-owners Ineos have offered the Dutchman new terms after deciding to keep him as manager following an exit review of the season.

Sources say agreeing Ten Hag’s new contract is a priority, but insist nothing has been finalized yet.

Despite some changes to his role at Old Trafford, it is understood that there will not be much change and Ten Hag will still retain the managerial title.
