Santa Monica’s Erewhon grocery store closed its tonic bar after finding cockroaches in the establishment, the company announced on Thursday.
The history of the high -end grocery store has been closed after the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health discovered what he described in a public report as a “vermin infestation”.
“We deeply regret that a roach was found in our tonic bar,” said a spokesperson for Erewhon in a press release. “We sincerely apologize for this spear in our standards.”
A store worker who spoke with Times said Thursday that two cockroaches had been found.
A spokesperson for the Erewhon company said that the store “voluntarily” closed the tonic bar, where they made cafes, teas, juices and smoothies, and supervised a full sanitation process. The company said that it provided for the reopening of the tonic bar later Thursday.
In recent years, the popularity of the luxury grocery chain has soaked. He cultivated a series of buyers who visit regularly to buy a prepared meal or expensive and dear smoothies with celebrities.
This year, three other locations should open the opening in southern California.
In its order of closure for the site of Santa Monica, the public health service noted that the store had a “major” problem with “rodents, insects, birds or animals”, according to files published online.
