What is most concerned about the epidemic of Guillain-Barré syndrome in Pune?

Among the six new cases, two patients were followed in a door-to-door investigation to inform the population about the SGB, an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks nerves. Like Friday, 14 patients are on respirator.
According to the note from the State Health Department, 44 patients come from the Pune campaign, 11 from the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and 15 of the areas of the Municipal Chinchwad Pimpri Corporation (PCMC). The maximum of patients come from Kirkitwadi (14), followed by DSK Vishwa (8), Nanded City (7) and Khadakwasala (6), indicates a note from the PMC.
Of the 73 patients with the SGB, 48 are men and 24 women. Three of them are less than five years old.
The national team of the central surveillance unit has read the increase in SGB in Pune cases. He called for a meeting with state and civil society officials. Dr. Babita Kamalapurkar, co -director of the Epidemiology Department, communicated with the Central Video -Surveillance Surveillance Unit and provided information on patients on Friday.

Hospitals get their supplies of injections while cases increase

State teams, as well as those of the PMC, the PCMC and the district health office, inspected around 7,200 homes in two days. Most were along Sinhagad Road. “It is advisable to anyone with symptoms of the SGB, such as numbness of the members or prolonged diarrhea, during the investigations, to be treated,” said Dr. Kamalapurkar.
Hospitals, including the Sassoon hospital, get injectable and medication to avoid a shortage of igiv injections.
Dr. Eknath Pawar, dean of the BJMC and the Sassoon general hospital, said: “We currently have 16 patients. Two are in pediatrics. They show an improvement. We have stored injections from IVIG and sought -after stocks from other medical faculties. We have adequate filters for plasmapheresis.
Sources at the Ministry of Health said that Niv Pune had identified certain viral and bacterial infections in certain samples taken from people diagnosed with the SGB. “A more in-depth investigation is underway to confirm whether the infection has led to autoimmune diseases,” said a source.
