Epic Games makes major changes in his store to provide an attractive alternative to Apple integrated purchases for developers. The company announces the changes lower than one day after a major court decision which requires that Apple cannot receive costs on purchases made outside of applications or limit how they indicate payments outside the platform, which means that more developers can choose to direct users to other payment options.
From June, Epic says that for any payment treated via the Epic game store, the developers will pay a share of revenue from zero percent – which means that the developers themselves will keep all their income – “on their first $ 1,000,000 revenue per application per year”, according to a blog article. After that, the share of income typical of 88/12 percent of Epic will be questioned. Apple and Google also offer a reduced commission rate on sales below $ 1 million, but only 15% against Epic zero.
Also from June, Epic will launch a new feature that allows developers to launch “webshops” hosted by Epic Games. These webshops “can offer players out -of -application shopping as a more profitable alternative to integrated purchases, where Apple, Google and others have exorbitant costs,” explains Epic.
To encourage you to buy things from web lines, Epic says that players’ expenses will accumulate 5% EPIC awards “on all their purchases”. EPIC rewards can be applied to future purchases of the Epic store.
