Epic Games takes a victory tour. After winning a big victory against Apple in a legal dispute of several years, Epic announced that its Epic Games store will allow developers to open webshops, which can offer players out -of -application shopping to bypass Apple and Google costs.
Epic took place in a long legal battle with Apple on its IOS application shop fees, which take 30% of the developer’s income. A judge had judged in 2021 that Apple could not prevent developers from directing customers from buying digital goods outside the Apple ecosystem. But Wednesday evening, judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers wrote in a bubbling file that Apple intentionally breaks his decision in 2021.
Now, Epic brings back his flagship play Fortnite to the iOS App Store, where he will encourage users to buy digital products from Fortnite directly via Epic, because they will get a better price.
With the new webshop feature of the Epic Games store, other developers will be able to follow the plunge more easily.
Usually, Epic takes a share of 12% of the benefits of a developer of the Epic Games Store, which is always a better deal than what developers get from Apple. But from June, Epic Games will not take a reduction in the first 1 million dollars that each match wins each year. It is only after a game eclipses $ 1 million in revenues, Epic will start to decrease.
“With new legal decisions in place, developers will be able to send game players to make digital purchases from webshops on any platform that allows it, including iOS of the European Union and the United States,” said Epic.
