Enzo Maresca told Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson that if they do not start to score, Chelsea had no chance of obtaining their football goal in the Champions League.
Palmer and Jackson both started in a surprising way during the shock of the Thursday conference league with Legia Warsaw, but respectively made her individual droughts at 15 and 12 games because they failed to score.
Despite the loss of 2-1 in the night-and to be hooked by their own full-time fans-Chelsea reached the semi-finals, whatever with a 4-2 global victory.
The next step is Fulham in a Premier League match that Maresca described as a “final”. Speaking before this short trip, the boss of the Blues insisted that he did not regret starting Palmer and Jackson so close to this confrontation, even if his attempt to bring back their confidence turned.
“To use them is to build physical condition a little, but also to build a little mentally, because they have trouble scoring at the moment,” said Maresca. βTo give them 45 minutes, an hour is a chance to see if they can score and they can leave. When they don’t score, I’m sure I’m worried.
When asked if Chelsea could achieve their goal among the first five if Palmer and Jackson do not mark, Maresca said: “No.” Pushed if it’s as simple as that, he added: “Yes”.
Enzo MARESCA revealed that he had started Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson against Legia Warswife in order to strengthen their confidence

Goals have turned out to be difficult to come for the pair in recent weeks with the two players without one out of ten match

Maresca added that the pair not having resumed their form would be disastrous for the ambitions of the Chelsea Champions League
If it is convinced that they will get rid of their rating points, Maresca continued: “I am confident because they have scored goals. Cole scored 14 goals in 20 Premier League games. He scored goals. Nico was the same before the injury. Now, unfortunately, Nico had been released for two months, so probably physicality needs a little more. And it’s the same for Cole.
The XG statistics of Opta, the state, Palmer should have scored at least five goals during his drought, while Jackson should have contributed three or more of the chances he had.
Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia can go back to the Chelsea team for Sunday visit to Fulham with the club hoping that he can now stay in shape after his last two seasons have been reduced by injuries to the hamstrings. The blues plan to manage the lavia in the same way as Reece James, the captain who was said that he could not play every three days.
James was brutally honest after Chelsea’s defeat in the second row against Legia and Maresca said that her style of leadership without frills was necessary: ββ”Absolutely, yes. He is responsible for it.
Maresca also resisted several news from the Confidential Chelsea Chronicle this week.
This included the way they expect until the end of the season before deciding what to do with Strasbourg’s loan star, Andrey Santos – although he will join them for their club world club campaign in the United States – and how they have not yet made a decision on the opportunity to keep Jadon Sancho or pay a penalty to send him back to Manchester United after his loan.
