England’s first match of the men’s summer is on Wednesday evening for their final series before heading to the West Indies for next month’s T20 World Cup.

A number of Michael Mott’s side have been plying their trade in the Indian Premier League over the past two months, leaving the tournament early to begin preparations for a busy white-ball spell for England.

There is also a possibility that fast bowler Jofra Archer will play his first senior professional match in over a year after having a terrible time with injuries over the past three or four years.

England will play four T20Is against Pakistan before heading out to defend their T20 World Cup crown, which begins against Scotland in Barbados on June 4.

This series also marks Pakistan’s final outing before also heading to North America, with the beaten finalists in Australia two years ago seeking their first World Cup trophy since winning the World T20 in England in 2009.

Wednesday’s match will be Pakistan’s first under the tutelage of new white-ball coach Gary Kirsten, the South African premier batter having previously enjoyed coaching success with India, with whom he won the 2011 World Cup.

Notable inclusions in Pakistan’s squad for their tour of England see Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim come out of international retirement to make one last attempt at silverware for Pakistan as they bid for glory at the Cup of the World T20 next month.
