British football legend Harry Kane’s three children have been rushed to hospital following a three-car collision in Germany.
Kane’s children — Ivy, 7, Vivienne, 5, and Louis, 3 — were all traveling in a Mercedes van when it collided with a Renault and a Land Rover shortly after 5pm in Bavaria on Monday.
Kane, captain of the England national team and all-time leading scorer, was landing in London at the time of the event. His team, Bayern Munich, faced Arsenal on Tuesday in the Champions League quarter-final. They drew 2-2.
Officials said Kane’s children were doing well after suffering minor injuries.
“There was an accident, but the children are OK and none were injured,” Kane’s spokesperson told the Post. “They went to the hospital for a routine check-up.”
Bavarian police said the 20-year-old driver of the Renault drove towards an intersection and collided with the rear of the Mercedes which was turning onto a side road.
Footage from the scene showed the luxury vehicle carrying Kane’s children with its hood crumbled from the impact.
Fire officials told the BBC that Kane’s children were “very lucky not to have been seriously injured in the accident.”
Hohenschäftlarn volunteer fire chief Daniel Buck said all vehicles suffered “a lot of damage” and “the first thing we saw was a lot of injuries in all the cars.”
Local police said in a statement this week: “On Monday April 8, 2024, around 5:15 p.m., a 20-year-old Munich resident was driving a Renault car on state road 2071 in the direction of the A95.”
“A 48-year-old man, a 43-year-old man and a three-year-old man (all of whom live in Munich) were also passengers in the 20-year-old man’s car,” the statement continued.
“At the same time, a 24-year-old resident of the Munich district was also driving a Mercedes car on state road 2071 in the opposite direction.”
“There were three children aged between five and seven in the 24-year-old’s vehicle (all of whom lived in the Munich area).”
The nine people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
They were transported, among other things, to hospitals by helicopter and emergency services. The 62-year-old woman went to the doctor herself,” the statement added.
The damage caused amounts to tens of thousands of dollars, according to authorities.
Kane’s wife, Kate, and his youngest child, son Henry, born in August, were not in the vehicle during the ordeal, according to The Guardian.
The Post has contacted the Bavarian State Police for further comment.
