The 31-year-old allegedly took off his shirt and threatened staff and drinkers.
The first Taser reportedly had no effect on the 20-stone Englander and it was believed he had been hit by the Taser again.
Photos have been released apparently showing Number Eight handcuffed and taken to a nearby hospital.
It was reported that he was released on bail, pending further investigation.
The police have not yet issued a statement on the matter.
Vunipola was born in Australia before the family moved to Wales when he was a child.
He received a scholarship to the prestigious Harrow School and was enrolled at Wasps Academy there.
The 31-year-old made his England debut in 2013 and has played 75 times for his country.
However, he was not selected for the 2024 Six Nations.
