England and Manchester City star Jack Grealish has been fined £666 for speeding in his Range Rover Sport after he was caught traveling at 44mph in a 30mph zone.

England star Jack Grealish was hit with a £1,000 bill today after admitting speeding in a 30mph zone.

The Manchester City midfielder admitted driving at 70mph in his Range Rover Sport when he was caught on a speed trap in Wythall, Worcestershire, last July.

The 28-year-old was also initially charged with failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of the vehicle, costing up to £114,000, but this charge was withdrawn during the brief hearing today at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Grealish did not appear in court, but his lawyer, John Dye, entered a guilty plea on his behalf. Mr Dye said he had been “charged with apologizing” on Grealish’s behalf. He was fined £666 and ordered to pay £110 costs and a victim surcharge of £266 by magistrates.

Mr Dye said the footballer “could afford to pay” the amount.

Grealish reportedly had a “completely clean license” but also received five points on his license.

It is the second time in four years that the former Aston Villa footballer has faced court for driving offences.

In 2020, Grealish, of Barnt Green, Worcestershire, was banned from the roads for nine months and fined £82,499 for two counts of driving without due care and attention in relation to a three-car crash in Solihull and an incident separate in October near the club’s training ground.

The first offense occurred during the UK’s national Covid lockdown in March 2020. He crashed his car just a day after posting a video on social media asking people to stay at home to protect the NHS during the pandemic.

Previously, Grealish was banned from the road for nine months and fined £82,499.

Grealish hit two parked cars in a cul-de-sac and a judge was told a witness reported he smelled of “intoxicating liquor” and struggled to speak.

In the second incident, an unmarked police car spotted him driving at more than 90mph along the M42.

At the sentencing hearing before Birmingham magistrates in December, it was told that Grealish would have to apply for a new license once his ban ends.
