Netflix’s “Pride and Prejudice” series found its Elizabeth Bennet and Mrs. Bennet in Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman, respectively.
They join the star of “Slow Horses” Jack Lowden who was interpreted as Mr. Darcy, as Variety exclusively reported on Wednesday.
The series limited in six parts will be a faithful adaptation of the emblematic novel of Jane Austen written by the author of “All I know about Love” Dolly Alderton and produced by Euros Lyn of “Heartstopper”. He will go into production in the United Kingdom this year.
“Dolly will give life to the emblematic history of Jane Austen for the public who cherishes him, while inspiring a new generation to fall in love with Austen for the first time,” said a press release.
The star of “The Crown” Emma Corrin will make his debut as an executive producer of the project alongside Alderton and Lyn, as well as Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne is a producer.
“Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a unique opportunity,” Corrin said in a statement. “To be able to give life to this emblematic character, alongside Olivia and Jack, with the phenomenal scripts of Dolly, is really the greatest honor. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story again.”
