NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has enlisted the help of an unlikely ally to help promote the upcoming NFL Draft.

Rap legend Eminem appeared in a promotional ad alongside the commissioner ahead of this year’s event, which kicks off Thursday in Detroit.

The short clip, posted to social media, shows Eminem sitting alongside Goodell in a studio.

“My name is Eminem and this is Roger Goodell. And Roger Goodell is here in Detroit looking for some credibility,” the 51-year-old rapper says in the clip.

“Can you help me get some?” » Goodell then asks, to which Eminem responds: “Absolutely not.”

Eminem – real name Marshall Mathers – grew up in suburban Detroit and is one of the Lions’ most prominent fans.

During the 2023 NFL playoffs, Eminem was in the stands at Levi’s Stadium when he was caught giving a double middle finger to 49ers fans.

The rapper watched from a suite as his team attempted to reach the first Super Bowl in franchise history.

This week’s draft gives teams a chance to bolster their rosters ahead of the 2024 season.

Zach Wilson’s tumultuous tenure with the New York Jets is coming to an end, with the quarterback heading to the Denver Broncos.

The trade also contains a swap of late-round picks between the teams, with Denver taking possession of one of the Jets’ seventh-round picks at No. 256, the penultimate selection. New York lands a sixth round at 207th overall.
