Emiliano Martinez is the ‘king of penalties’, but he’s not the best at stopping penalties in the Premier League… as the former Arsenal goalkeeper takes top spot.

Emiliano Martinez once again showed his penalty-saving abilities as he helped Aston Villa defeat Lille to reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

Martinez saved two penalties in the shootout, including Benjamin Andre’s decisive shot on goal.

The Argentina goalkeeper also saved two penalties against France in the 2022 World Cup final as his country won.

However, it has been revealed that another former Arsenal goalkeeper has surpassed Martinez when it comes to saves on penalties in the Premier League.

Martinez, who joined Villa in 2020, is third with a save percentage of 18 percent after avoiding three out of 17 penalties.
