- Celebrated 250 games with the Panthers
- The first player to reach the milestone with the club
- The night was ruined by more than the score
The defense of the title of Penrith is officially in free fall after a fourth consecutive defeat, but it was not only the dashboard that made the fans speak on Friday evening.
In a night full of drama and disappointment, the panthers suffered a 22-18 defeat against the cowboys from northern Queensland at the Commbank stadium.
It was a result that amazed the fans, while the quadruple Minister in Defense collapsed at their worst start to the season since 2013.
But even before kick -off, there were signs that things were not going to plan the reigning champions.
The opportunity was supposed to be a celebration of the legend of the Isaah Yeo club, who became the first player in Penrith’s story to play 250 games for the club.
The co-captain of the Panthers was joined by his family for a special pre-match presentation in honor of his incredible stage.
Penrith Workhorse Isaah Yeo played his 250th NRL match for the club on Friday, the most of all the panthers in history

Yeo’s commemorative jersey included an unfortunate error, the bad date printed at the front
However, fans quickly spotted an embarrassing error on Yeo’s commemorative jersey.
In a blatant error, the club had sewn the bad date – March 4, 2025 – instead of the good match day, April 4.
What should have been a precious memory for Yeo was spoiled by a simple rereading failure.
The journalist of the Veteran League, David Lang, posted on X: “The date is wrong on the 250th special first -year game of the captain of Penrith. It will make me more or less for the night. Amazing!’
Fans were also scathing in their response to the mixture, calling it “unacceptable for such a great opportunity”.
“Just a month late like the rest of the team,” joked a supporter, summarizing frustration.
“Someone had a job to read again, and he couldn’t do things well,” added another.
La Bévue made comparisons with the infamous Error of Jersey “Dargons” by St George Illawarra last season.

It was a special evening for Yeo who was honored by his family for his many achievements with the club

However, cowboys from northern Queensland have spoiled the party, moving the panthers to their fourth consecutive loss
Although this is not as obvious, the Yeo error was sufficient to leave the fans of Penrith shaking their heads.
To make things worse, the panthers left a chance in gold late in the match.
With the cowboys hanging on a four-point lead, Casey McLean ignored an unmarked Tom Jenkins and was probably blowing a match winner.
It was a decision that fans labeled “unforgivable” and that summarizes the recent Penrith difficulties.
Despite Nathan Cleary’s return from the concussion and the first important step of Yeo, the Panthers showed little form that made them champions.
Their current record 1-4 places them in a dangerous territory, both on the scale and in terms of morale.
“There is something with the panthers at the moment, whether it is the management or the players, and I don’t know what it is – but that hurts us,” wrote a frustrated fan.
Penrith must now regroup quickly while they are preparing to face the Dolphins without victory in Redcliffe on Thursday.
