Madonna and Elton John seemed to have “buried the ax” after a quarrel of several decades.
On Monday, the Crooner “Material Girl” explained how his recent meeting with John turned into a sincere meeting.
“We finally buried the ax !!!” Madonna wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of her and the “Rocket Man” singer. “I went to see @eltonjohn perform on SNL this weekend !! wow. I remembered when I was in high school – I got into the house one evening to see Elton playing live in Detroit! It was an unforgettable performance that helped me understand the transformer of music.”

“Seeing him playing when I was in high school changed the course of my life,” she continued. “I had always had the impression that a growing stranger and watching him on stage helped me understand that it was ok to be different – to stand out – to take the road, less traveled. In fact, it was essential.”
“Over the decades, it hurt me to know that someone I admired shared his aversion to me as an artist so much,” she added. “I didn’t understand it.”
The singer “like a virgin” said that she had decided to go to “SNL” once she discovered that John was performing.

“I had to go behind the scenes and face it,” she said. “When I met him, the first thing out of his mouth was:” forgive me “and the wall between us fell. Sorry is a powerful tool. In a few minutes. We were getting widening.
“Then he told me that (he) had written a song for me, and he wanted to collaborate,” she concluded. “It was as if everything was looped !! and you can tell everyone:” It’s your song. “”

Madonna and John began to argue in the early 2000s after the British singer said Madonna’s song for the new film 007, “Die Another Day”, was “The Pire Bond Tune of all time”.
“He doesn’t have a melody,” he said at the time. “They should have gone for someone like Lulu and Shirley Bassey, or maybe I’m in this league? I don’t think it’s Madonna’s best record, and I’m a big fan.”
