Sir Elton John said that he could not see his sons playing rugby after an infection last summer left him with his sight.
“I don’t see television, I can’t read. I don’t see my boys playing rugby and football,” the 78 -year -old superstar told Times.
“It was a very stressful period because I used to dip everything. It is painful,” he added.
In September, the singer wrote on Instagram that a “severe” infection had left him a “limited vision” in one eye, adding that his recovery “would take time”.
Sir Elton and her husband filmmaker David Furnish have two sons, Zachary and Elijah.
The songwriter said he “couldn’t see TV”, adding: “I couldn’t see anything since last July.”
He admitted that he was “emotional” about his loss of sight.
“But you have to get used to it, because I’m lucky to have the life I have. I always have my wonderful family, and I can always see something from here,” he said, pointing his left eye.
“So you say to yourself, go for it.”

Sir Elton previously said that he had not been able to finish his new album because of his vision problems.
In November, he said “it’s been a while since I did anything”.
But Friday, he released his new collaborative album with the American musician Brandi Carlile, who believes in Angels?
The couple worked with producer Andrew Watt and his long -term composition partner Bernie Taupin on the album.
Sir Elton said they “did not all of them agree”, adding that he had become “frustrated” when they got up to him.
He said: “If I want to make an excellent album at the age of 76 or 77, I must be said and they supported my little weaknesses, which really concerned anxiety, doubt of self and not feeling very well at the time.
“I was tired so I thought I’m going to abandon this.
“The problem was that three other people were involved and I knew that if I moved away, I would hate myself for the rest of my life.”
He added that it was not the first time that he had doubts about his music.
“You would not be human if you were not afraid and doubt. It is good for the artists. Each album that I made, good, bad or indifferent, I had doubts,” he said.
“And the most doubts I have ever been with this one.”
The album was mainly congratulated by criticism. Writing in The Guardian, Lisa Wright awarded him four stars, praising her “poignant moments”, while Neil McCormick of the telegraph gave him five stars, calling him a “glorious return to his 1970 melodious and melodious pump”.
In January, Sir Elton’s biggest successes’ greater successes, Diamonds reached the number one after 374 weeks on the charts.
