Eloy Jiménez is back with the Chicago White Sox after undergoing an appendectomy earlier this month – The Denver Post

Eloy Jiménez picked and scored on May 5 against the Cincinnati Reds. It was his eighth straight game with a hit.
The next day, the Chicago White Sox outfielder/designated hitter was in the hospital undergoing an appendectomy.
Jiménez returned on Sunday as the Sox wrapped up their four-game series against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
Jiménez has made remarkable progress in a short time.
“He was right,” Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Thursday. “His spirit was good. He wanted to come back and be a part of it. We want him to be part of it.
“He was pushing, we were pushing. He has done a great job with his rehabilitation, not only physically but mentally.
Jiménez is cutting .258/.321/.423 with four home runs and 15 RBIs in 25 games. He’s 14-for-33 (.424) with two homers, eight RBIs, six runs and a 1.109 OPS over the eight-game hitting streak. He played three games for Double-A Birmingham while on a rehab posting.
In Sunday’s corresponding move, the Sox opted for outfielder Adam Haseley at Triple-A Charlotte.
