Elon Musk called President Donald Trump’s sales advisor Peter Navarro, a “moron” on the comments he made about his electric vehicle company, Tesla.
MUSK – Who is also a member of the Trump administration – also said that Navarro was “more stupid than a brick bag” in articles on his X social media platform.
It was in response to an interview given by Navarro in which he described Tesla as a “car assembler”, rather than a manufacturer, due to its use of parts made abroad.
Navarro was interviewed about Trump’s pricing policy and said he wanted to see such parties in the United States in the future.
Musk said the statements were “obviously false”.
The BBC asked for comments from the White House.
Trump partially justified his world wave by saying that he wanted to revive manufacturing in the United States.
This is an argument that Navarro was relaxing during an appearance on CNBC on Monday.
“If you look at our automotive industry, we are well, we are going up for German engines and transmissions at the moment,” he said.
“We are going to arrive in a place where America is making things again, real wages will be in place, the benefits will be in place”.
Responding to the comments on Tuesday, Musk published a link to an article in 2023 of the car assessment company Kelley Blue Book, which cited the results of Car.com that Tesla vehicles had the most parts produced in the United States.
“Depending on any definition, Tesla is the most integrated automotive manufacturer vertically in America with the highest percentage of American content”, Musk written in a follow -up article.
The technology analyst Dan Ives said on Sunday that the company was less exposed to prices than other American car manufacturers such as GM, Ford and Stellantis.
But he too said that the company had obtained majority of its parts from the outside of the United States, stressing China.
“The prices of their current form will disturb Tesla, the overall supply chain and its global footprint which has been a clear advantage over the years compared to the up-up competitors like Byd,” he said.
Trump’s prices have caused a drop in the stock market worldwide, as investors calculate it, companies will make smaller profits.
Musk – Who directs Doge, who is responsible for reducing federal spending – warned in a post on March 27 that even his business would not be immune to pricing disturbances.
Another Trump funder, the Billion Ackman’s billionaire fund, called on a break on prices to avoid what he called the “major global economic disturbance”.
In an article on X, he said that current plans would make “unnecessary evil”.
Navarro is considered an ultra-top loyalist after being imprisoned for having ignored a summons a chamber committee investigating alleged efforts to cancel the 2020 elections.
We also think we are one of the main architects of Trump’s pricing policy.
