ELON Musk has deployed Cybertrucks across Los Angeles to act as power hubs and battery banks during the ongoing wildfire mayhem.
The billionaire Tesla founder, who owns X, posted pictures of the aid he has rolled out to help victims of the blaze.
When sharing a picture of a truck stocked with fruit and water, he captioned the post: “We are going to position Cybertrucks with Starlinks and free WiFi in a grid pattern in the areas that most need it in the greater LA/Malibu area.”
Musk also revealed on Sunday that “a lot more” aid would be sent out to contribute to the “effort tonight and tomorrow”.
He also suggested those who own a Cybertruck could “ride around” in the “devastated areas” with a “Starlink terminal on the roof and open wifi”.
Some have taken to social media to thank Musk, whose Cybertrucks have offered energy and WiFi.
One person suggested they were stuck “without grid power” when they were offered the chance to hook up to the source.
This then allowed them to communicate and get important fire updates.
Speaking about those looting during the chaos, Musk even advised the side panels of the vehicles are “bulletproof” but only to “subsonic projectiles”.
Others posted pictures of emails from Starlink, the service which provides streaming in even the most remote locations, offering them a whole month free of charge.
Someone else revealed that Tesla has donated the Cybertrucks to be used as battery banks.
They wrote: “Tesla has donated multiple Cybertrucks to be utilized as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue at their station until power is restored.
“This is where the 14,200-acre Eaton Fire is currently raging in LA.
“Altadena Rescue: ‘This will greatly help the team to power radios, computers, and lights as we work into the dark.”
Musk previously apologized to those in California who were expecting Cybertruck deliveries in the next few days.
He wrote: “We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity.
“A new truck will be delivered end of week.”
It comes after Los Angeles put preparations in place to battle dangerous 50mph winds that could spark new deadly blazes.
Mandatory evacuations have been put in place with the weather expected to set in tonight and last for over 48 hours.
At least 24 people have been killed in the fires with a further 16 reported missing.
Authorities fear these numbers will likely rise in the coming days.
California governor Gavin Newsom has said the wildfires will be the worst natural disaster in US history in terms of “cost… scale and scope”.
Speaking to NBC News yesterday, he said the biggest challenge will be the dangerous winds: “We’ve got these winds coming back this evening, Sunday night, we’ve got peak winds on Monday.
“We’re going to see 50mph gusts.”
He added there could be “flare-ups in new places”.
