A former NCAA American skier died on Saturday in an accident on the slopes of the Grand Lake Tahoe region, the authorities announced.
Ellery “Ellie” Curtis, 26, from San Francisco, suffered a head injury and was declared dead at the Palisades Tahoe Resort in Olympic Valley, according to the Sheriff department of the ComtĂ© to place.
The Sheriff department received a distress call at 3:45 p.m., but Curtis was already dead when the deputies arrived, according to the Sheriff Elise Soviar spokesperson.
Sheriff managers provided no other details and gave requests for information to Palisades Tahoe.
The ski resort did not answer Times’ questions, but said in a statement that they were “deeply saddened” by the accident and called Curtis as “beloved skier”.

“Ellie Curtis was a worker, passionate and motivated student whose passions were going beyond snow,” said her coaches in Dartmouth, John C. Dwyer and Anny Jenny, in an e-mail. “Ellie was kind, attentive and loved to be involved in many environmental organizations and projects.”
Curtis was also a triple national college Member of the entirely academic ski teamThis means that it obtained a cumulative weighted average of 3.5 and participated in one of the three regional NCAA championships.
Curtis worked as an analyst for California Public Utilities Commission, according to his Linkedin profile.
