Elizabeth Warren’s call for mass citizenship for migrants frustrates social media users: ‘Anti-American’

Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s call for a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants already in the country was seen as a stunning admission by social media users Sunday.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper asked Warren about the backlash against Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ record on the border crisis since President Biden tasked her with addressing the issue early in his administration.

“The number of border crossings today is lower than it was in the last year of the Trump administration. But we have to recognize — and I know Kamala Harris knows this — that this is a problem that ultimately needs to be solved by Congress,” Warren said.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke to CNN’s Jake Tapper about Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

She added: “We need tools to have more resources at the border, more resources in states and cities that support migrants. And I believe we need to create a pathway to citizenship. That’s all part of what we need to do for comprehensive immigration reform. Kamala Harris will work with Congress to make that happen.”

Warren’s open call for mass amnesty surprised and disgusted conservative lawmakers.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance wrote: “Elizabeth Warren is thrilled to elect Kamala Harris as border czar because she knows Kamala wants to grant massive amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Kamala’s extreme border policies are fundamentally un-American.”

“If you listen to this clip, you can hear Team Harris explicitly making two campaign promises: 1. Unlimited taxpayer support for newly imported illegal immigrants 2. U.S. citizenship for illegal immigrants arriving from over 150 countries, which means voting rights, welfare, and chain migration,” wrote former Trump adviser Stephen Miller.

“Translation: They need voters,” said Florida Republican Party Chairman Evan Power.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott wrote: “The truth is coming out. Democrats are confirming that Kamala Harris will work with Congress to grant citizenship to the 11 million illegal immigrants she and Biden let in. This is just PART of the lawless regime Kamala wants to impose. Only LEGAL immigrants get citizenship.”

“Pure admission!” exclaimed Fox News contributor Leo Terrell.

Podcast host Mike Sperrazza wrote: “They’re telling us their plan. They want to destroy America.”

Radio host Tara Servatius said: “SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: You can bet Kamala Harris is going to grant citizenship and voting rights to the 10 million illegal immigrants she let in as border czar.”

Harris was widely dubbed the “border czar” after Biden tasked her in March 2021 with addressing the root causes of mass migration from Central and South America. Although the Biden administration rejected the title, the term was widely used by mainstream and liberal media, at least until she topped the ticket.

Since then, several media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, ABC and Axios, have insisted that the term “border czar” is a false label created by conservatives to attack Harris.
