Elizabeth Olsen says that Marvel films are “not really the art that I consume”

Elizabeth Olsen recently appeared on the Podcast “Wild Card with Rachel Martin” of NPR and said that she was still trying to prove to people that her personal tastes do not always align with the Marvel cinematographic universe.

“I think that I have not always managed to make choices in my work that is aligned with my personal taste and it is something that I have the impression of trying to prove when I meet people,” said Olsen, referring to the way in which her role as Marvel as a scarlet witch has shaped the perception of the industry. “Especially if it is a work -type meeting and I can express my personal taste in films and literature, and therefore I always think that I have that to prove.”

Olsen continued: “Because I spent so many years Marvel that I have the impression that all the other jobs I have to do must really reflect my personal taste because as much as I like to be part of this world – and I am proud of what I could do with the character – it is not really the art that I consume. Of which I was very honest. ”

Olsen made his debut as Scarlet Witch in the post-key scene of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” of 2014 before her appropriate support role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” of 2015. Since then, she has played in superproductions like “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Doctor Strange in the MultiVisse of Madness” and titled the Disney “Wandavision”, for which she obtained an appointment to the Emmy.

“I thought it was so great Greek type stories that reflected politics, culture in a really beautiful way,” said Olsen on the podcast on the issue of enlargement in the first place. “And so I really felt proud to jump into it. And then, in the past 10 years, it has taken this story in the same way, it’s like a hot catch, that an actor says they want, they would never make a Marvel film or not.”

In an interview with the Vulture Festival last year, Olsen attributed to Marvel to have been a “coherent thing” in his life that it gave “a feeling of insurance in my life which gave me the freedom to choose other jobs”. Olsen added that she had always returned to Marvel because she really wanted it. It “always seemed to be a choice,” she said. “Each time, it’s focused on the characters. It’s always like” we have this idea, and that’s why we want you to see. “It’s not like,” throw it in something “.”
