Elise Stefanik renames Biden’s State of the Union as a ‘state of crisis’

House Republican Conference Speaker Elise Stefanik (R-NY) called President Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech Tuesday night a “state of crisis” address.

“In tonight’s State of the Union, Joe Biden must answer for the state of crisis that two years of his failed policies have created,” Stefanik told Breitbart News, citing the southern border invasion and skyrocketing crime.

“Americans know they are less safe because of its skyrocketing violent crime crisis and historic border crisis that is flooding our communities with illegal and deadly fentanyl,” she said.

Under Biden’s leadership, more than two million migrants were apprehended at the southern border and hundreds of thousands fled. Fentanyl has become the biggest killer among 18-45 year olds.

Stefanik predicted that Biden would praise the economy during his speech. Biden’s economy has cost American families an estimated $5,520 a year in 2022. According to a poll on Sunday, 41% of American families say their financial situation has deteriorated since President Joe Biden took office – the worst result in 37 years.

“Make no mistake – the American people will see through any attempt by Joe Biden to lie and claim his economy is strong, because every hard-working family knows the pain of Bidenflation due to his billions of dollars in spending. reckless and its radical Green New Deal agenda,” she said.

Stefanik also referenced the new House Republican majority and the oversight it intends to exercise over the Biden administration. “In the new majority, House Republicans have taken the lead in providing critical scrutiny over the far-left policies the Biden administration has inflicted on the American people,” she added. “We’ve only just started.”

As chairman of the House GOP conference, Stefanik was appointed to the “select subcommittee on the militarization of the federal government.” The committee will help root out corruption and abuse in all facets of entrenched federal bureaucracy.

The committee will hold its first hearing on Thursday and will focus on “laying the groundwork to uproot the longstanding political militarization against the American people entrenched in the federal government,” she told Breitbart News.
