Electricity consumption fell by another 8.5% last week – France

It’s time to save energy and the New Year was no exception! According to weekly data published by RTE, electricity consumption fell by 8.5% last week, from December 26 to January 1, if we compare it to that measured on average from 2014 to 2019 (before the covid-19 pandemic ).

A helping factor, the temperatures were once again well above seasonal norms, around 5°C (with even a difference of 9.2°C on December 31).

During Christmas week, electricity consumption fell a little less sharply: -7.4%.
