Elden Ring player explains how to upgrade Scadutree Blessings without fighting a single boss

Scadutree Fragments are essential for leveling in the Elden Ring DLC, but one savvy player thinks he’s found a way to find enough Fragments to reach level 14 without facing a single boss.

Redditor Galdiuz2 posted his method on the Elden Ring subreddit earlier this week, including an image illustrating where, exactly, Tarnished can locate Scadutree fragments without encountering a boss.

Interestingly, u/Galdiuz2’s post states that you can use this map to reach level 12, but u/gilgabroVII points out that you can actually reach level 14 – “17, before any Memory bosses” – because there is at least one additional shard in the starting area not marked on the map, “two more in Scadu Altus and two in the (Cerulean Coast).”

Later, Galdiuz22 returned to the post to acknowledge that there were “even three accessible to the south, for a total of six additional ones not present on (the) map.”

Be careful if you choose this path, though: it might mean you end up constantly skipping interesting NPC quests.

Another commenter added that you can get 20 shards without fighting anything or entering a legacy dungeon, 34 without killing any bosses, and 44 shards by defeating just three main bosses and a memory (thanks, TheGamer).

If you missed it, a patch for Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been released. It revises the scale of blessings of the Realm of Shadows. The DLC includes this new scaling system to improve the attack and defense of your character and your spirit summons, by collecting Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes respectively.

Now, the scaling has been revised so that the effects are more significant for the first levels, before becoming more progressive later on.

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC reached 5 million sales worldwide, in just three days after its release.

Earlier this month, Elden Ring sold 25 million units, meaning 20% of all players already played the DLC during its opening weekend.

“To everyone who has walked the path left by Kindly Miquella, we extend our sincere thanks,” FromSoft said on social media.
