Elden Ring DLC Made Easier With New PS5 and PS4 Calibration Update

After a wave of complaints from parts of the Elden Ring community, FromSoftware appears to have given in to demands to reduce the difficulty of the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Following a calibration update applied once connected to the server multiplayer of the title (look for version 1.12.2), blessings of the Shadow Realm which improve your attack power, damage negation and Spiritual invocation will have even more impact.

The changelist on the Bandai Namco website explains the upgrades coming from Scadu Tree Fragments And Revered Spirit Ash have been increased “for the first half of the maximum amount of blessing upgrades”, while the “second half” will be “more gradual”. This means you’ll feel their effects more in the early stages of the DLC, giving you a better chance against the first set of Boss fightsAdditionally, the final level of each upgrade has been “slightly increased”.

To feel the benefits of these character upgrades, you will still need to find and collect the Scadu Tree Fragments And Revered Spirit Ash distributed across the entire new map. Although the new mechanic has been pointed out and explained in-game, some hardcore players have avoided the benefits it brings. This has led to a wave of complaints and even critical reviews, suggesting that the expansion is simply too difficult.
