EID 2025 Moon Observation: this year, Australian Fatwa Council officially announced that Ramadan 1446 Ah would end 30 days, with Eid-Ul-Fitr falling on Monday March 31, 2025. The great Mufti of Australia, Dr. Ibrahim Abu Mohamad, did not confirm that astronomical calculations will not be visible before walking, Shawwal was visible. Ramadan 2025.
This method to determine the beginning of Eid follows well -established learned principles, balancing the traditional vision of the moon with modern astronomical calculations. While different Islamic communities can follow variable methods, the underlying spirit remains the same: a collective moment of joy and devotion.
The Council announced: “The Australian Fatwa Council confirmed, after new requests for information from local and world observatories that Sydney, Shawwal’s new moon will be born on Saturday March 29, 2025, at 9:57 p.m. after sunset, at night. The next day cannot be the first of the month of Shawwal. »»
The National Council of Australian Imams stressed the importance of unity and respect within the Muslim community, recognizing the diversity of interpretations concerning the observation of the Moon. The Council encouraged all Muslims to adopt the common values which bind them and to reflect on the importance of standing together in faith.
In addition, this EID, Dr. Ibrahim Abu Mohamad, called on the Muslim community to keep their brothers and sisters in Gaza, in Palestine, in their prayers and their generous gifts. While Muslims celebrate, they remember the importance of global solidarity and support for those who face difficulties.
For a whole month, Muslims around the world have devoted themselves to fasting, prayer, charity and self -discipline. Ramadan is a deeply spiritual journey that strengthens faith and encourages acts of kindness and the last days of Ramadan, including Laylatul Qadr or the night of power, are filled with intense prayers and sincere supplications.
The EID-UL-FITR, which means that the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”, is a reward for this devotion when the day begins with special Eid prayers, followed by festive gatherings where families and friends meet to share meals, exchange gifts and exercise warm wishes. It is also time to give Zakat al-Fitr, a charity by ensuring that those who need it can participate in the celebrations.
The EID is not only a festival, it is a reminder of faith, gratitude and to restore. While Muslim communities across Australia and beyond come together for this blessed opportunity, the Grand Mufti and the Australian Fatwa Council respond to their warmest wishes:
