Eden Rainbow-Cooper wins women’s wheelchair division

Rainbow-Cooper becomes the first British woman to win the wheelchair division with a time of 1:35:11.
Eden Rainbow-Cooper won the women’s wheelchair division of the 2024 Boston Marathon on Monday, finishing with a time of 1:35:11.
The 22-year-old from Portsmouth, England, is the first British woman to win the division. Rainbow-Cooper took the lead early on and maintained her dominant position throughout the race, leading by over a minute at the halfway point.
The women’s wheelchair division was up for grabs after Susannah Scaroni, the reigning 2023 wheelchair champion who stopped mid-race to tighten her axel, withdrew from the race last week at the following a shoulder injury.
Rainbow-Cooper, who ran without any sponsors, will take home $40,000 in prize money.
