Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer’s new film The Pickup halts production in Atlanta after on-set accident injures ‘several crew members’

Production on Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer’s upcoming film The Pickup has been halted after several crew members were injured in an accident on set in Atlanta.

Murphy, 63, and Palmer, 30, were previously seen filming on set, but filming has now been halted after an incident on Saturday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The accident took place during a “second unit action sequence” that had already been rehearsed, according to an Amazon spokesperson.

“Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several crew members were injured,” the spokesperson said.

“We are still gathering the facts about what happened and why, but our thoughts are first and foremost with those who are recovering.”

On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that the incident was a car accident that occurred when a truck “stuck” and hit another vehicle.

“It was a completely freak accident,” an anonymous source told the AP, adding that the stunt performed was not considered particularly dangerous.

The source said two crew members were hospitalized due to the accident and another remained in hospital on Tuesday.

The injuries “ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones.”

The IATSE crew union also released a statement saying, “IATSE is aware of an accident that occurred on the set of The Pickup in Georgia and has opened an investigation.

The film’s plot is being kept under wraps, although Deadline reports that the film will be a heist comedy.

The film also stars Eva Longoria and Pete Davidson.

Last month, the duo was spotted on set in Atlanta and appeared to be sporting sparkles. The actress, 49, had a bruise on her face, courtesy of the makeup department.
