In a video published by the iconic Italian brand, Sheeran could be seen entering the Ferrari team’s garage to meet Charles Leclerc.

On his way there, it was clear that Sheeran had a huge smile on his face, which was hardly a surprise considering what had happened earlier in the day.

Kicking off at midday on Saturday, Ipswuch beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 on the final day of the Championship season to send them back into the top flight.

The Tractorboys last played in the Premier League in 2002 and therefore ended a 22-year wait to return to the bigs.

As well as being a huge fan of the club, Sheeran has sponsored the club’s shirt since 2021, but was not present during the historic clash at Portman Road due to being in Miami for the Grand Prix.

That didn’t stop him from taking part in the club’s celebrations with Sheeran FaceTiming Ipswich players to congratulate them on their achievements.

“I wish I was there,” he could be seen saying before, asking “do you want to come out?” – a proposal which was greeted with a “yeah!” » resounding.

The director also gave a cheeky explanation as to why he wasn’t there to enjoy the scenes in person, saying: “I have to pay for the sponsorship somehow!”

With Premier League football on the horizon, Ipswich won’t need to rely on Sheeran to propel their image onto the world stage for much longer.
