Eaton and deadly palisades draw 100% contained after 24 days

The palisades and fires of Mortal Eaton and fueled by the wind, which broke out 3 and a half years ago in southern California, were declared entirely contained Friday by California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

The expansion of the fire of the Palisades broke out on the morning of January 7 in Pacific Palisades, a district east of Malibu, as a brush fire and quickly exploded in dry weather conditions in southern California.

Later in the evening, Eaton’s fire started in the County of Los Angeles in the foothills of the National Forest of Angeles. He feasted for seven months of brushes without rain while the winds of power were widespread in the districts of Altadena.

Confainment indicates the share of a perimeter established around a fire to stop its growth.

According to the medical examiner of the County of Los Angeles, at least 29 people were killed in the two fires – in the fire of Eaton and 12 in the fire of Palisades.

The official cause of fires is the subject of an investigation, according to Cal Fire.

The fire of the palisades covered 23,448 acres, destroys 6,837 structures and damaged 1,017 additional, according to Cal Fire.

The Eaton Fire nourished on an enclosure of counterfeit of San Gabriel Valley has nestled against the vast national forest of Angeles Mountainuse while violent winds pushed flames in descent and in the urban population.

He destroyed 9,418 structures and damaged 1,073, including many centenary houses in Altadena, a historically inclusive community known for his black professionals and artists. Many architectural jewels of the community, including the Maison Andrew McNally and the Domaine de Zane Gray, were destroyed, according to the Los Angeles Conservancy.

About 4,000 acres of the fire of 14,021 acres covered the urban and residential blocks, said the head of the fire operations section, said in the Forestry and Fire Protection Department of California last week .

A combination of drought conditions and powerful offshore winds in southern California caused a time of fire which, in the words of the National Weather Service, “almost as bad as possible”. The region has less than 10% of average precipitation since October 1.

The National Weather Service warned for an extreme fire time would arrive, using a rare term, “a particularly dangerous situation” on January 6.

Governor Gavin Newsom moved firefighters and equipment in southern California as a precaution, said his office the day before fires.

Forest fires have overwhelmed most of the attempts to stop them, although a few others, like the Sunset Fire in the Hollywood hills of Los Angeles, were contained, sprayed and hungry for fuel.

On Monday, Cali firefighters, Joe Tyler, awarded the recent storm, who brought the first important precipitation in certain parts of the south of California in almost eight months, for having helped firefighters work on fatal Fulguras from Los Angeles.

“Rain showers in southern California have considerably reduced the current fire potential,” he said on X.
