Easter Sunday is April 20 and several national retailers are closed for the day.
Easter accumulation included a large dose of expenses, according to the National Retail Federation. It is estimated that people spent about $ 23.6 billion for Easter this year, more than $ 22.4 billion from last year and approaching the record of $ 24 billion spent in 2023.
The most popular purchases were candies, food and gifts, followed by decorations and clothes. Overall, buyers expect to spend a total of $ 7.4 billion on food, $ 3.8 billion on gifts, $ 3.5 billion in clothing, $ 3.3 billion on candy, $ 1.9 billion on flowers and $ 1.7 billion on decorations.
What is open, what is closed at Easter?
Walmart will remain open at Easter but the target is closed. Trader Joe’s will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while Kroger will be open for regular hours.
Home Depot is open but Lowe’s is closed. Bass Pro Shop is open.
Dollar General and Dollar Tree will be open.
CVS and Walgreens will be open, although the hours of pharmacy can be modified. Check in advance for a full schedule.
