East Providence police said the body of a second kayaker was found in Omega Pond shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, hours after the body of another man was found.

Police said the first body was located a short distance from the shore of Omega Pond using a drone.
“The water is very murky. The officers and firefighters on the boat are having a hard time seeing the water. Fortunately, our drone was able to see something that looked a little unusual from above, directed the firefighters to that area and we were able to locate the deceased,” said Police Chief Christopher Francesconi.
Francesconi said a Rhode Island State Police dive team assisted the East Providence Fire Department in searching for the second kayaker.
