Eamonn Holmes breaks silence on his divorce from wife Ruth Langsford by thanking viewers for their support

Eamonn Holmes used his presenting slot on the GB News breakfast show to break his silence over his divorce from wife Ruth Langsford.

Accompanied by co-host Isabel Webster, who smiled encouragingly as he spoke, the TV veteran said: ‘Just before we continue, we’d just like to thank people for your support of Ruth and I over the course of the last days regarding the news of our separation.

“Your support for both of us is much appreciated.”

Eamonn and Ruth announced their shock split on Saturday, ending one of Britain’s best-known television couples after 27 years together, 14 of which were spent in marriage.

The couple said in a statement released over the weekend that their work commitments had taken their marriage “in different directions.”

This is a powerful story – more will follow.
