The renowned temple of Dwyane Wade said that it had been operated on its kidney in 2023, the doctors withdrawing a tumor which was deemed later cancer.
In the comments made on his podcast “The Why with Dwyane Wade” which was published Thursday, the triple champion of the NBA revealed publicly for the first time that he was dealing with problems of stomach and urinary tract, which led him to see a doctor after “taking a few years off to take physique.” Wade said he had a complete scan, which revealed a “cyst / tumor” on his right kidney.
Several doctors recommended surgery, which he finally suffered in December 2023.
Wade said the doctors abolished 40% of its right kidney and that tumor tests after being withdrawn showed that it was cancerous.
“Thank goodness, I did the operation,” he said.
Wade thought about his trip to undergo the operation, saying it was a low point of his life.
“I think it was the first time that my family, my father, my children, they saw me weak,” he said. “This moment was probably the weakest point that I never felt in my life. … I was struggling, a dog. In fighting. And a thing you never want to do as a man, it You never want your family to consider you weak.
Wade congratulated his family to be there for him.
“In these weaknesses of weakness, I found strength,” he said.
Wade, who retired after the 2018-19 season, has several franchise records with Miami Heat – including points, assists, interceptions, matches and minutes played. His 16 -year -old career in the NBA included 15 with The Heat, three championships and a MVP in the final in 2006.
