This year, NSUI fielded a candidate for the presidential position after 17 years. A total of three women candidates are vying for the position, according to News18.
Until now, DUSU’s presidential post was held by NSUI’s Ronak Khatri, who led NSUI to make a comeback after seven years since 2017, when Rocky Tuseed was elected.
On September 18, NSUI alleged vote manipulation in elections to different colleges such as Kirori Mal, Hansraj and Hindu. NSUI president Varun Choudhary had alleged interference with electronic voting machines (EVMs).
The ABVP rejected the accusations, calling them a “frustration” of the NSUI. But the group accused the current DUSU president Ronak Khatri of entering Kirori Mal University with outsiders and creating a ruckus.
Khatri responded by claiming that the ABVP was “pressuring students to vote” and alleged “vote theft” on campus.
