During his detention for this case, he was charged on March 28 in the highway death case, according to the files.
It was not immediately known why it took so long for accusations to be deposited in the case of death of the highway.
He pleaded not guilty of accusations in the two cases and has a prior hearing at the trial scheduled for April 30. His total deposit for the two cases is $ 485,000.
The death of the highway occurred at 10:24 p.m. on June 12, 2024 on the I-880 north, south of South Fremont Boulevard. Robert Kwok Yu, 61, from Newark, who died on the scene.
According to the judicial archives, Salas led a Hyundai Sonata 2013 which crashed at the back of a 2006 Toyota Prius, led by Yu, which was arrested in a traffic lane due to construction work. A witness later estimated the CHP officers that the Hyundai went 90 MPH before the collision.
The impact made the Toyota advance in a Tesla 3 model. The three vehicles then took place and collided with two other vehicles, according to the files. No other injury has been reported.
The files say that Salas admitted to being the driver of the Hyundai and said that he had consumed alcohol before driving. He also failed a sobriety test in the field, according to the files.
He was arrested that evening. But as he was not immediately charged, he was released from the guard in a few days, apparently awaiting a more in -depth investigation.
His arrest of March 25 which found itself charged in both cases occurred after the woman who was the alleged victim in the case linked to domestic violence called the police.
She said that she and Salas were in a meeting relationship for six months and that on March 21, she was in her house in Fremont. She asked to use the bathroom and when she finished, he found missing items in her handbag, including her mobile phone. She demanded them from Salas, who refused, began to launch it articles and pushed her by force to an office in a room, according to the files.
She started to retaliate and was pushed to the ground. Salas then produced a knife and started cutting images, according to records. The woman was able to briefly take possession of the knife, but she was finally taken over by Salas.
After more physical contact between the two, things started to calm down and Salas sent the articles taken to the woman to her, according to the files. When she saw an opportunity to leave, she did it and moved away in her vehicle. She also told the police that she had seen a firearm in her apartment on previous occasions.
She told the police that she had not called them right away because she “was just grateful that she had escaped and that she was shocked about what had happened,” said files.
Fremont police went to his home on March 25, where Salas denied any altercation or verbal dispute with the woman. He also said that he had no firearm in the apartment, but a search warrant served in the apartment revealed an un serialized semi-automatic pistol, according to the files.
