Ducks continue to focus on progress with two weeks – Orange County Register

The Ducks migrated north to Calgary, where they will play one of the two remaining meetings with the Flames after losing the two previous games this season.

They almost seized the defeat of the jaws of the victory against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, transmuting a 3-1 advance in second cycle in equality at the end of the regulation, thanks to a relaxed game for a large part of the last 40 minutes.

But Mason MCTAVISH, who helped the three goals in regulation, delivered the winner of Shootout to burst the San Jose brooms, which the Ducks beat in the four clashes in 2024-25.

He brought the Ducks back to 0.500 and while they were dawn of the mathematical elimination of the playoffs on Wednesday morning, when their magic number was only two to be disqualified, they remained motivated. From the deadline for exchanges when they were defined as modest sellers, they went 6-5-1, a percentage of 0.542 points.

“You can’t really control what all the other teams do and so on. You focus on what we do as Anaheim ducks,” said Trevor Zegras. “The objective for the rest of the season with a winning record, and I think that is something that we can all be late.”

Zegras has seven points in his last six games and 12 since March 1, having accumulated only 16 at this point after being limited by an injury. The second half of Cutter Gauthier was nocturnal from his first. MCTAVISH and LEO Carlsson have co-directed the Ducks by scoring the two since the end of the 4 nations break end and since March 8, the day after the deadline for trade.

Carlsson was even able to design her own pair of Vans sneakers in collaboration with the Ducks last month, as was goalkeeper Lukáš Dostál, who made his third consecutive start on Tuesday, including two victories.

“During the second period, he was besieged and did an excellent job,” said Ducks coach Greg Cronin.

An assertion on the construction of the Ducks and Cronin coaching had been a stagnation or a regression of young talents. But with the defender Jackson Lacombe being one of the players – if not the most – improved players in the NHL this season and the second half of these attackers as well as the Sam Colangelo call, this criticism has dissipated.

In Calgary, this group will face an opponent with its own rising stars, like the top scorer of 20 goals Matt Coronato and the candidate of the Calder Dustin Wolf trophy.

Coronato has four three-points sequences of three or more games this season and in these games, the flames are 11-0-4. He scored two goals and two assists in two victories in January against the Ducks.

Wolf, a former junior king following a relocation to the south of Gilroy, California, was extinguished at the Saddledome. Its percentage of safeguarding of .921 at home fourth in the NHL among the guards with 20 or more appearances and its 2.33 goals on average are seventh.
