The federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs entered his eighth day of testimony in New York on Wednesday, with an internal security agent taking up testimonies on the federal property raid of Miami de Combs last year.
Combs, 55, faces accusations of sexual traffic, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in September and pleaded not guilty.
Wednesday morning, Gerard Gannon, an interior security investigations agent who supervised the March 2024 search for Miami Beach’s house in Combs, took a stand for the second time this week.
Gannon told court on Tuesday that the agents had discovered coins of AR-15 rifle, high heels, sex toys, lubricants, baby oil and lingerie in the closet of the master bedroom of Miami in Miami.
On Wednesday, Gannon recalled that the agents had found a Gucci bag containing an assortment of pills, including MDMA tablets, as well as white residues that have been tested positive for cocaine and ketamine, and other items in a cupboard different from the Combs house.
The photos presented in court were articles which, according to the agents, were found in a corridor cupboard, including more than 20 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.
Gannon testified that the agents had found a caliber handgun .45 loaded in a suitcase in the house of property on the property.
In counter-perspective, Gannon said that Ar-15-5 style cannons found in the Combs House had been dismantled and therefore inoperable.
The accusation then called Dr. Dawn Hughes, a forensic psychologist and clinician specializing in trauma. Hughes previously testified during the defamation in 2022 of the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp actors.
Hughes testified that it was common that the victims remain in abusive relations because they often feel trapped and that it can take months, even years, before a victim can disclose abuse to anyone. Victims of trauma, she said, generally experience deep feelings of shame, humiliation and degradation.
“They don’t want to talk about it,” said Hughes. “They don’t even want to think about it in their own brain.”
In abusive relations, Hughes said that there was “almost always love” which creates “an intense psychological bond which creates an attachment with their aggressor”.
It is often several attempts to make the victims leave abusive relations, said Hughes, before describing a cycle of “return and reconciliation, then return again” as a common model in abusive relations.
In tandem with physical violence, Hughes said that attackers frequently use financial control to maintain power and have victims trap. Victims often consume drugs and repress memories, she said.
Hughes told court that she had been paid $ 600 an hour for her expert witness work and $ 6,000 for a day of testimony to the court.
During the counter-examination, combat lawyers tried to paint Hughes as a biased expert witness which is paid by the accusation.
On the stand, Hughes confirmed that she had never testified to defend someone accused of a sexual crime, explaining to the court that she did not assess offenders.
After Hughes, the government called George Kaplan, a former Combs assistant, at the witnesses stand.
Kaplan said that he started working for Enterprises in 2013 Combs in 2013 and that he had been promoted in less than a year to the Combs executive assistant.
Kaplan testified that Combs would frequently threaten to fire him and say that he only wanted the best employees.
Kaplan said that he had communicated daily with combs daily and that he had often prepared hotel rooms for him, storing them with clothes, candles, a lubricant, baby oil and more, and cleaned them later.
Kaplan told court that the “protection” of the public image of Combs was “very important”.
The court postponed around 3 p.m. he. Kaplan will continue to testify on Thursday morning.
On Tuesday, the jury heard a former combination assistant, a male escort and the mother of Cassie Ventura, Regina Ventura, who accused her of blackmail and having attacked his daughter.
On Monday, the jury heard the singer Dawn Richard and Kerry Morgan, a former friend close to Ventura during her relationship with Combs. The two women testified that they had witnessed Aggressant Ventura comb.
Cassie Ventura spent four days on the stand last week and testified to the years of physical and emotional violence that she endured combines during their 11 -year relationship, anyway.
Ventura said that Combs orchestrated sexual performance fueled by drugs with male workers he called “monsters”, and that he forced him and sing to participation.
She also allegedly allegedly raped her in 2018 after their breakup.
Prosecutors sought to portray Combs as controlling and abusive, and as someone who has exercised power over almost all aspects of Ventura life and decisions.
Combs lawyers tried to undermine Ventura’s credibility and sought to represent it as a participant disposed and consenting to the so-called “freak-offs”.
The trial should last seven more weeks. If it is condemned, Combs could spend the rest of his life in prison.
