Driver dies after snowplow hits train in Iroquois County – NBC Chicago

An Illinois Department of Transportation driver has died after his snowplow was involved in a collision with a train Monday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, the truck was involved in a collision with a train just before 8:30 a.m. near Danforth, a community about 80 miles south of Chicago in northern County. ‘Iroquois.

Illinois State Police were called to the scene and were able to remove the driver from the vehicle after the collision.

That driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

According to the Watseka-based Iroquois Times Republic, the train was operated by the Canadian National Railway Company.

No further details were available about the circumstances of the collision and no information has yet been released on the identity of the driver.
