Draft of chefs: New Athletic Mock sends G Donovan Jackson to Kansas City

Monday, Athletic Nick Baumgardner published a new simulated project that sent a goalkeeper to the Kansas City chiefs with the 31st choice of the first round.

31. Kansas City Chiefs: G Donovan Jackson, Ohio State

A balanced and explosive athlete with a very good length, Jackson spent most of his Ohio state career in Guard before moving to tackle following the injury of (Josh) Simmons – A critical decision during the race for the title of Ohio State. Jackson can be incompatible with his hands, but has the appearance of a possible long -term starter in the guard or the tackle.

Does the 2024 Jackson season seem familiar? This should. This is exactly what Kansas City’s left guardian, Joe Thuney, did during the same season.

And that brings us to the reason why the fans of the chefs did not move when the team signed Thune to an expensive five -year contract after having published its departure plates Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz: because if Kansas City had then written a young left tackle, they would have taken advantage of playing next to Thuney – and in a young left tackle THUNEY – and in a young left tackle, they would have benefited from playing next to Thuney – and in a small Pincey, they could have benefited from THUNEY – and in a Pincey, can play left tackle.

In 2021, it did not get there. Just for the record, the simulation of Baumgarder goes through three laps. With the 63rd choice, the Chiefs take the Runnnesse Running Back Dylan Sampson. At 66, the team acquired the Ohio State Edge Jack Sawyer. And then at 95, the chiefs select the defensive platform of Texas Vernon Broughton.
