The cricket star, Jack Clayton, was forced to retire early on the Sheffield Shield match of Queensland against New South Wales on Sunday after the drummer was struck by two deliveries in the groin.

The match also saw the Australian star back, Sam Konstas, opening the southern New Wales striker after being sent home by Baggy Greens selectors halfway to their visit to Sri Lanka.

Queensland would first beat at Gabba, with Clayton with their first rounds.

The left -hander struck 134 out of 258 deliveries to stimulate the Bulls on a first -handed score commanding 387.

New South Wales could not match their exploits, Konstas leaving its fold for three points after being dismissed by Xavier Bartlett who took a fifth during the second rounds.

Despite this, an impressive Knock captain of Jack Edwards, who struck a quick ton, kept visitors in the match, with South New Wales displaying a score of 259.

But during his second round, the left -handed striker was forced to retire after being hit twice in the groin by two distinct deliveries

Queensland felt the blood and sought to start in the second round with the left -hander Clayton arriving at the fold after the opener Angus Lovell was rejected by Hanno Jacobs.

He was raised another impressive score of 76, but while he was trying to hit a fast delivery of the Ross Pawson’s right arm, but Clayton cheated on his shot, the flying ball in his groin.

He sank to his hips on the counter, looking at the launcher who had called an LBW but interrupted his call after seeing his injured opponent.

After removing his helmet and spent a few moments on the ground, Clayton seemed to continue.

But unfortunately, Clayton quickly found himself hanged on the counter. This time, he cut a delivery of Pacy by Liam Hatcher in his groin with his own ballet and appeared even more.

He wrapped on the ground as he removed his helmet and gloves while the physios ran on the ground to make sure he was fine.

“He is agony,” said a commentator before the 25 -year -old drummer retires.

Despite this painful moment, it was an impressive blow for the young star who produced her biggest score in her last five first class games and his fourth century in format.
