DOOMSDAY returns as the Scarlet Witch

Earlier this weekend, you probably saw a list from Production Weekly claiming to reveal Avengers: DoomsdayThere is the casting and the start date of filming. It’s generally best to take them with a pinch of salt, especially when they are inaccurate more often than accurate.

The whole film has started to take shape in recent weeks, with Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Tom Holland and Charlie Cox all joining Robert Downey Jr. in the 2026 release.

Now we might be able to add another actor to the list: Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

Scooper @MyTimeToShineH claims to have “confirmed” it will appear in Avengers: Apocalypse and, while it’s not quite up to par with the exchanges, we certainly expect to see the character in this film.

The Scarlet Witch is rumored to be allied with Doctor Doom, perhaps as a nod to Avengers: Children’s Crusade. In this, she lost her memory and fell in love with Victor Von Doom; Unfortunately, he couldn’t help himself and stole her powers in an attempt to rewrite reality to his liking.

Last November, the WandaVision The star explained that while her Marvel role allows her to pursue passion projects, it’s far from the only reason she still plays Scarlet Witch.

“I never really had the ‘one for them, one for me’ mentality.” Olsen explained. “Marvel has been such a consistent thing that I’ve been able to come back to and has created – what’s the word? – a sense of assurance in my life that has given me the freedom to choose other jobs. So I don’t I didn’t feel like, ‘And then I’ll do this to do that.'”

She would add that returning to the MCU “always seemed like a choice” and explained, “Every time, it’s character-driven. It’s always like, ‘We have this idea, and this is why we want you to come back.’ It’s not like, ‘Just throw her into something.'”

“It’s a character that I like to come back to when there’s a way to use him well and I think I was lucky when I started, I was used well,” Olsen said when addressing his future in the MCU, “and they didn’t know what to do with me for a second! If there’s a good way to use it, I’m always happy to come back.”

“I think so. I suppose so.” she added when asked if the Avenger was still alive. “Yeah, and there was a red light of explosive energy. I think I died. I would ask you to leave a window open. I had so much fun making these films. I would like to understand how to be intelligently undead. We need to find the smartest writers to figure out how to make sense of it all. I’m open to ideas.”

Avengers: Apocalypse should be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected to arrive in May 2027.
