It didn’t take long for tempers to flare between the Knicks and Pacers in Game 7.
The teams met briefly after a foul was initially called against Tyrese Haliburton on Donte DiVincenzo – then overturned.
As DiVincenzo waited for the ball to make a free throw before the call was overturned, Pascal Siakam was in the paint, appearing to stall for a challenge call.
DiVincenzo approached him to push him aside, and Siakam objected, raising his arms toward the Knicks guard.
Siakam pushed Isaiah Hartenstein when the Knicks center approached him, and coaches from both benches came onto the court to try to prevent the incident from escalating.
The foul was overturned and Siakam and DiVincenzo were penalized with a double technical foul.
The Knicks trailed 39-27 at the end of the first quarter as the Pacers shot 16 of 21 (76.2%) from the field.
