Andrew Giuliani was appointed head of the Donald Trump working group at the 2026 World Cup.
Giuliani, the son of the former mayor of New York and Trump Ally Rudy for a long time, was a special assistant to the president and associate director of the public liaison office during Trump’s first term.
This role included the organization of visits to sports teams at the White House, but it will now be responsible for orchestrating the largest football stars in the American soil next summer.
Trump made this announcement on Truth Social Tuesday, writing: “I am proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Giuliani as executive director of the president’s working group on the FIFA World Cup 2026.
“During my first mandate, Andrew was a special assistant to the president and associate director of the public liaison office, playing a key role in creating the system that enabled athletes around the world to return to the United States during the reopening of America in 2020.
“In addition, Carlos Cordeiro will serve as a senior advisor. Carlos is currently the main advisor to FIFA and was previously president of the Federation of the United States of Football, where he was president of the winning offer for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
