Weeks after President-elect Donald Trump called the United States’ acquisition of Greenland an “absolute necessity,” his son plans to visit the island.
Strictly recreational, he said.
According to a report in The Hill on Monday, Donald Trump Jr. is planning a trip to the massive Danish island off the coast of North America.
Citing “a source close to the project,” The Hill reported that the former and future presidential son was planning “a short day trip to film some fun video content for podcasting.”
There was no immediate report on the date and, according to The Hill, the younger Mr. Trump is not planning any meetings with Danish or Greenlandic governments or politicians.
However, this visit comes a few weeks after the elder Mr. Trump published on Truth Social, in the context of the announcement of Ken Howery as ambassador to Denmark, that “the United States of America believes that the property and control of Greenland are an absolute necessity.

It wasn’t the first time he broached the subject either.
Officials from the Danish national government and Greenland’s local government insisted the island was not for sale to the United States or anyone else, although Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede since called for the independence of this autonomous territory of less than 60,000 inhabitants.
