Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States in a smaller, indoor ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, attended by dozens of famous people from around the world. Trump’s inauguration was marked by a fiery speech, in which he criticized the previous administration, reiterated that God had saved him during the assassination attempt and promised to usher in a new “age of gold” in America.

This year, the ceremony was held indoors due to the freezing weather in Washington. Throughout the inauguration ceremonies on Monday, January 20, the budding friendship between Trump and Elon Musk was on full display. The Tesla CEO sat next to Trump, raising his fist as the president promoted the goal of sending American astronauts to Mars.
